I recently took my baby boy Albie, my Ragdoll kitten, to the vets and so far I’ve had such a lovely experience.
I signed him up online, which made everything so quick and easy. I then received a call back from the vets and was able to book his vaccinations. I’m not sure of the receptionist’s name, but when I arrived for his appointment, she was absolutely lovely. The vet was also really friendly and took the time to give me some helpful advice and answer any questions I had.
Albie was also microchipped during the same appointment, which was really convenient. I decided to sign up for the monthly Vets Club payment, which made more sense for us, and I also received a bag of food, which was a lovely bonus.
Everyone I’ve dealt with so far has been so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Albie’s only just started going there, but my experience so far has been really positive. The staff are amazing and I’m really happy I chose this vets for him. 🐾🤍
One particular call handler completely failed in her duty of care lack of empathy abrupt very dismissive of my concerns her main goal to rinse as many tests as she could out of my already very unwell cat she shows zero compassion or empathy
Would not recommend this vets at all,no compassion at all about a pet that is on borrowed time, there main concern when phoning us was pushing there costs as much as they could,no empathy at all for the clients or our pet.
£242 they wanted just to do a consultation,a mobile vets came out to us, £60 for the same consultation the guy Dr jack from Harvey's ,so nice loads of empathy & so nice with Bella our cat.avoid first vets Aldridge,the only thing they are concerned about & there staff when they call is to get as much money they can off you as quickly as they can,no compassion at all for the poor pets or the owners that are getting very sad news about there loving pet.
The name of the mobile vets by the way was garveys Sutton Coldfield,not Harvey's as I said above ,they concentrate more on the pet no money
Shall be my go too place, my lil moody boy-cat was a changed man 😂 (castration & chip) , was told he became timid during his visit which makes me shocked and giggled about it later, they clocked his moodyness after, (I left him there too long for him probably lol) they was lovely, I need to bring my other cat there, my lil boy out of his meow-dication now Lol 🤣 and he's back to himself, already a lot more chill, he's happy his allowed out again, and happy I switched back to his normal litter he let out the biggest wee. ♥️ Thankyou all for loving my floofball as much as I lubbs him ♥️❤️♥️💯
My 2 Toy Apricot poodles Foxy and Lu Lu are looked after well by the reception team and also Tudor and Henry
Thank you so so much for seeing my hamster brownie today immediately as an emergency. All staff were so kind and understanding as I was very stress and upset and it ment so much to me. He is my best friend and I hope his medication works 🩷🐹🍫
First Vets looked after our 18 year old cat Bonny for the last 6 years and she had regular visits to manage her medical problems ( hyperthyroidism, arthritis and surgery to remove a tumour 2022) so she had a really good quality of life. Unfortunately she became very unwell just before Christmas and we had to take her for the final time. The vet was extremely kind and made sure she didn't suffer. I would like to thank all the staff at the practice for all their care shown over the years. Bonny had a long and happy life.
the best vets in my experience for small animals. i have used first vets on several occasions now for my guinea pigs, the most recent being for an emergency. we were able to get an emergency appointment within half an hour of phoning. the vets are not only knowledgeable but so kind as well. i have experienced different vets surgeries in the past who are afraid of small animals or have refused to touch them but nothing compares to the care both my guinea pig and i received at first vets. the vet we saw talked us through our options and didn’t make us feel rushed to make a decision. unfortunately, my guinea pig was put down but they handled her with dignity and respect, wrapping her in a clean blanket for me to take her home in. i must also praise the reception staff as well, who were so genuinely kind and compassionate. we were so very well looked after on a truly awful evening, i really am grateful to have such a knowledgeable and caring vet practice in my area.
The attitude of the staff on the phone was awful, they were happy to make a 12 week old puppy crying in pain until the next day, with an answer of " there's other vets try them" awful attitude,
FirstVets are awesome. They saved our Penny’s life when she was hit at six months old with Addisons Disease, and helped us heal our Luna - despite initially thinking she might need to be put down. They regularly care for our girls; Penny can’t wait to get inside the vets to say hello to all the nurses. She cries until everyone has said hello to her, and the nurses even have their own pet name for her. Luna is a little less excited 😅😂 but she receives excellent care and has learned that not all vets are scary and that she gets cared for and loved too.
